I am a private midwife, living in the northern suburbs of Perth with my husband and three daughters. I myself chose to have continuity of care with a midwife during my pregnancies, and my last two births were at home. I love playing netball, (my body doesn't like it that much though!) reading books and enjoying summer pool time with my family.
I have been a registered midwife since 2011, supporting women in the hospital setting. I studied at Edith Cowan University, firstly doing a Bachelor of Science (Registered Nursing) in 2009 followed by a Postgraduate Diploma (Midwifery) in 2010.
Continuity of care with a known midwife is the gold standard maternity care, with better birth outcomes for both women & babies along with higher maternal satisfaction. My belief is that pregnancy, labour and birth is a normal physiological process that is best supported where the woman and her support network feel safe and comfortable.
My aim is to walk alongside women through their pregnancy, providing them with information so they can make informed decisions regarding the care for themselves and their baby. I trust women, birth and physiology. If left alone with minimal interruption and intervention, women's bodies can do amazing things.
