I am endorsed private midwife, who can provide antenatal care throughout your pregnancy from as early as your first trimester.
Appointments will be provided in the comfort of your home, after your booking appointment you would usually be seen at 14-16 weeks, 20, 24, 28, 32, 34, 36, 38, 39, 40, 41+, any other appointments as required.
These appointments include checks for you and baby, including blood pressure checks, fetal heart and growth checks. These visits allow exchange of information around nutrition, exercise, birth preparation, breastfeeding education and postnatal preparation.
All the usual pregnancy care is provided, including ordering any ultrasounds or pathology tests you may want or require, and medications that may be needed.

As your private midwife, I will be on call and available 24/7 for labour and birth care and support, providing care in your home setting along with a second midwife.
Once you are in established labour I will provide care and support for you and your support team, during the birth and for usually 4 hours after birth.
If choosing to birth in the hospital, I have admitting rights at King Edward Memorial Hospital so I can continue providing midwifery care to you in this hospital.
If at any time hospital transfer is required, depending on which hospital we transferred to, I will either continue to provide midwifery care or I will be a support person in an advocacy position.
You will receive postpartum support for both you and your newborn baby up to 6 weeks after your birth.
This will be provided in the home, with breast feeding and postnatal support though daily visits for the first 3-5 days, or more if required.
These visits will space out as baby gets older, with support and advice given as you transition into new parents (or back to newborn parents!)
These visits with consistent advice from one care provider help to get you off to the best possible start with your new baby.

As an endorsed private midwife, I can offer medicare rebates for antenatal and postnatal care. As mentioned above, care is provided throughout the whole pregnancy period.
The cost for care throughout your pregnancy, birth (including a second midwife) and postpartum is $7000, with many different payment plans available but ideally to be paid in full by 36 weeks.
Either after each appointment or at the end of your care with me you lodge a receipt to medicare for your rebate, depending on what works for you. The estimated amount for rebates is around $1200-$1500 (depending on your safety net/income etc).
